JENS MALMGREN I create, that is my hobby.

Eva on 22 of January 2017

It is Sunday 22 of January 2017 and I am on my way to a life model painting session at studio de Stoker in Amsterdam.

This morning I was thinking that it is terrible that I still struggle to draw with likeliness, what am I doing wrong? Clearly, likeliness is just some of the aspects of a painting and certainly not the most important aspect. The viewer of the painting has no idea if the painting looks like the model but the viewer will see how the paint is handled, how the light falls on the model and how I worked with this. I can easily talk myself into not caring about how likely a painting is but it is still nagging me.

Today is the last session with Eva and today she took off her hat!

It is a very beautiful winter day today. On Monday I published my book. I think it was Monday. Then yesterday I fixed issues with linking and uploaded a new version. I also made myself a Wikipedia account and added links to my book from the pages about Sytrus and Harmor. The page about Sytrus was okay but the page about Harmor had issues. I will see if I can manage to remove these issues, that would be nice.

So with other words, the book is out! I already started thinking of making this book into “Part one” then I can write another book and call that “Part Two”.

On the Harmor forum at Image-Line, a user called this book “The Harmor Bible”. That is big words. Had not expected such big words but it feels nice. I still must collect all open ends in the book and present these in a list of questions that the people at Image-Line can answer. Then I need to work these questions and answers into the book somehow, that is the plan.

I was born 1967 in Stockholm, Sweden. I grew up in the small village Vågdalen in north Sweden. 1989 I moved to Umeå to study Computer Science at University of Umeå. 1995 I moved to the Netherlands where I live in Almere not far from Amsterdam.

Here on this site I let you see my creations.
