Two beautiful ladies looking for a partner
This is a photo of two great spotted woodpecker (Dendrocopus Major).
It had been fantastic if I could make a photo of these birds a little bit nearer but I am glad I got any photo at all, especially since they are sitting next to each other looking the other way.
When I found this pair my immediate thought was that it indeed was a pair but I think it is actually two female woodpeckers. The male is supposed to have a red patch on their head but I think these two birds don't have that. So the conclusion here could be that these two good looking ladies are looking for males!

study Computer Science at University of Umeå. 1995 I moved to the Netherlands
where I live in Almere not far from Amsterdam.
