JENS MALMGREN I create, that is my hobby.

Wednesday 27 December, Amsterdam #6

It is Wednesday 27 of December 2017. I had almost written Monday but that is wrong. It feels Monday. I just missed my luxury train to Amsterdam. Last time, the fifth time, I did no blogging. So here is the 6th time I go to Amsterdam to work.

Now I am sitting in the sprinter. It just occurred to me that the class system in Dutch trains is inconsistent. In the train, I just missed a second class seat is equally good as the first class seats in this train. If I could quickly upgrade then I would do that. Especially on a busy train.

On the way home Friday before this long weekend I had a sore throat. This developed during the entire Christmas and culminated and planned out so that I could visit the family on Boxing Day. Now I am not entirely recovered but I think I can behave at work.

It works very well when blowing the nose when people are entering the train. Then they decide to sit elsewhere.

My mother in law had asked me if I could show some of my paintings. For some time now I have been thinking of how to transport my panels. I would be possible to make something of wood but then I would be standing in the garden with the router. I was not feeling so well this weekend that I would stand in the garden working at all. Designing something in Fusion 360 was a more compelling idea. I created corners that had slots for the panels. Then I made holes so that I could tie the hooks together. There was room for 12 panels in this. I printed the 4 corners and selected 12 recent paintings and it worked nicely. I also had a strap that fits around the box. It became a suitcase. I find it amazing that I can figure out an idea and the day after it is real and it works!

The challenge was that I had many paintings to show and it was difficult to find places to put them.

When all was set up I invited the family to this quick pop-up exhibition. It was interesting to see the feedback. I think nudity was a problem for some but for others no problem at all. On average a nude neutral audience.

Work went very well today. My cold behaved as well. I could return home well on time. The city was packed though. The tram-train went really slow and the bells were ringing constantly.

It becomes dark early. We passed the winter solstice but there are yet many dark days to come before brighter days.

Now something entirely different. The painter who painted my house did a good job. I am happy with the result. Now when this is done it feels much more fun to fix other parts as well. I have a door with scratches that need a little plaster and a layer of paint. There is a couple of other little things to fix as well. It would feel much better is the house became more presentable. Suppose I wanted to display paintings in my house, it is just an idea, among many. Perhaps this idea could go into 2018 new year resolutions list.

Oh dear my throat is kittling I hope my Strepsils starts working soon because I am sitting in a silence coupe.

I was born 1967 in Stockholm, Sweden. I grew up in the small village Vågdalen in north Sweden. 1989 I moved to Umeå to study Computer Science at University of Umeå. 1995 I moved to the Netherlands where I live in Almere not far from Amsterdam.
